Hello my lovely book readers! Here is my review for the Wicked Prince by Holly Black just as I promised. I know that in my review for THE CRUEL PRINCE, which is book one in this fantasy series, I went on being a little harsh on it by even saying I was about to give up on the entire series based on that just one book. However, I really will thank my silly determination to never leave a book series unfinished no matter how bad it might get, because book two is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Now I really get what all the hype is about, and if you are starting to read it or thinking about reading it, book one might not be the best, but I do urge you to carry on and read book two, this one has everything you want in a fantasy/young adult story.
REVIEW: ★★★★
The characters this time around are incredibly more relatable and connectable. It's as if part of the essence of this characters we met in book one are still there but they have matured so much in this book. Even the settings and the context of the story is much more mature: betrayal, passion and intrigue; it really was a thrilling ride. Now I can see the connection between Jude and Cardan that I did not see in the previous book. “Kiss me again, kiss me until I am sick of it.” More like read me, read me until you become sick of me, but this time around I don't think that could even be possible.
I finished this book in a day, and even then I couldn't believe how much adrenaline you feel as you are reading it, and the ending was so GAH! Yes, there are no words to describe that cliffhanger for I was speechless at the final decision and now I am desperate to know what will happen next and how this incredible saga will come to an end.
All I'm hoping though is that we get I well wrapped up ending and not be left with so many questions unanswered or just be a rushed ending, specially after the major improvement the story has taken. But here I will be, counting the days ti'll November so I can get my hands on the final book, The Queen of Nothing.
You can get this book at any book store or online stores like KOBO, KINDLE and IBOOKS.
Happy Reading!
